United Way NWLA welcomes new board members

United Way of Northwest Louisiana (UWNWLA) announced the election of five new members to join its 2024 Board of Directors.   

The members below begin their two-year term with UWNWLA effective immediately: 

  • Michael Gallagher, Margaritaville Resort Casino

  • Valarie Jamison, Caddo Parish Government

  • Cyndi Phillips, ANECA Federal Credit Union

  • Scott Ward, Southern Components

  • Willie C. White III, David Raines Community Health Center

Thomas. “Their diverse expertise, passion, and dedication to our mission will enrich our strategic direction and strengthen our impact within the communities we serve. United Way NWLA Board of Directors Responsibilities

UWNWLA’s Board of Directors are fully committed and dedicated to carrying out UWNWLA’s mission through strategic planning, engaging in fundraising initiatives, and monitoring and approving the organization’s budget. In addition, members actively promote UWNWLA as an organization ambassador, advocate, and community representative.

Board Chair transition

After two successful terms as board chair, Darrin Dixon, Vice President of the Funeral Division at Winnfield Funeral Homes, welcomes incoming board chair John Tuggle, Executive Director of Shreve Memorial Library. “As incoming board chair, I am honored to lead an organization dedicated to fostering community empowerment and tackling the most pressing social challenges of our time. Together, we will amplify our impact and build a brighter future for Northwest Louisiana.”
